Delayed, damaged or lost baggage

Sun PhuQuoc Airways always strives to transport passengers' baggage to the final destination safely and promptly. In all cases, the airline will make every effort to address any irregularities related to baggage, such as delayed arrival or damage at the destination.

1. Time Limit for Claims

a. For baggage that is lost (damaged or missing items inside) or for one or more missing pieces of baggage: Passengers must submit a written claim to Sun PhuQuoc Airways for compensation no later than 7 days (as per postmark) from the date the passenger received the baggage.

b. For delayed baggage: Passengers must submit a claim no later than 21 days (as per postmark) from the date of the passenger's flight arrival.

c. Claims regarding baggage loss must be made in writing and submitted to Sun PhuQuoc Airways within the above-mentioned time limits. Claims submitted after the deadline or not in writing will not be considered.

d. Passengers must immediately notify Sun PhuQuoc Airways of any irregularities with their baggage (loss, damage, or delayed delivery) at the baggage claim location so that the airline can prepare a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). If no claim is made after leaving the airport, it will be considered as initial evidence that the baggage was delivered in good condition and in accordance with the carriage contract.

e. Upon receiving a baggage claim, Sun PhuQuoc Airways may request the passenger to provide information such as identification documents, boarding pass, flight ticket, baggage tag, photos of damaged baggage, and other relevant information for compensation assessment.

2. Baggage Compensation

a. Sun PhuQuoc Airways recommends that passengers do not place valuable items, important documents, or money in checked baggage. Fragile or perishable items should also not be transported in checked baggage.

b. Sun PhuQuoc Airways is not responsible for damage to fragile items, perishable goods, money, jewelry, precious metals or stones, documents convertible to cash, securities, or other valuable documents, passports, identification papers, or samples contained in checked baggage, regardless of whether the airline was aware of such items being placed in the baggage.

c. Sun PhuQuoc Airways is not liable for normal wear and tear of baggage, including:

  • Small dents, cuts, scratches, pulls, dust, and stains.
  • Loss or damage to external accessories of baggage such as straps, hooks, belts, external locks, name tags, covers, or other attachments added by the passenger.
  • Damage due to overpacking or improper packing of baggage.
  • Pre-existing damage noted by the passenger during baggage check-in exemption.
  • Damage or loss resulting from random inspections by security or safety checks conducted by authorities of individual countries.

  • As soon as a passenger notices that their baggage is delayed, lost, missing, or damaged, they should immediately contact the Sun PhuQuoc Airways staff at the Lost Baggage counter at the arrival airport. Staff will provide guidance and proceed to create a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).
  • Upon receiving complete information from the passenger regarding the irregular baggage case, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will locate the baggage as quickly as possible. Once the baggage is found, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will contact the passenger to agree on the time, location, and method of returning the baggage.
  • In the event that the baggage cannot be located within 21 days, the compensation liability limit for the baggage will be determined in accordance with the Sun PhuQuoc Airways Conditions of Carriage.

  • Lost property refers to items that are not checked baggage, left behind by passengers, and found at SPA security checkpoints or on board the aircraft.
  • Any lost property found at SPA security checkpoints will be handed over to the Lost & Found department (of PVMĐ Company) or to the SPA representative office at the airport where the property was found for safe storage.
  • Lost property found outside SPA security areas by passengers or a third party and handed to SPA staff will be returned to the responsible airport authority.
  • Lost property is kept at the airport for 90 days. Passengers are advised to contact the Lost & Found department for information regarding their lost items. After 90 days, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will have full discretion over unclaimed property, which will then be disposed of according to current regulations.

  • Unclaimed checked baggage refers to checked baggage that has no recipient at the arrival airport and whose owner cannot be identified at the departure airport.
  • Unclaimed checked baggage will be stored at the airport for 90 days. After 90 days, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will have full discretion over such unclaimed items, which may be disposed of in accordance with current regulations.
