Sun PhuQuoc Airways - Rise Together

Welcoming almost 230 passengers from Incheon, Sun PhuQuoc Airways elevates the travel experience with its second international route

Sun PhuQuoc Airways officially inaugurated the Phu Quoc – Seoul route on April 17, marking the next milestone in its international network expansion strategy under the “Rise to Asia” vision.

Expanding International Presence, Creating a Seamless Travel Experience

Flight 9G450 departed from Phu Quoc International Airport at 02:25 and landed at Incheon International Airport at 09:55 (local time). On the return leg, almost 230 passengers from Seoul arrived in Phu Quoc on the airline’s inaugural inbound flight, opening a new connection rhythm between two destinations rich in tourism and trade potential.

Beyond simply adding a new international route, the Phu Quoc – Seoul service is positioned as a “strategic connectivity axis,” enabling Phu Quoc Island to deepen its access to the Northeast Asian market while expanding onward connectivity through one of the region’s largest aviation hubs.

Alongside the route launch, Sun PhuQuoc Airways also commenced operations of the Sun Executive Lounge at Phu Quoc International Terminal, completing its lounge system across both terminals. This move aims to elevate the passenger experience right from the point of departure.

The lounge space is designed under the concept of an “aviation academy,” bearing the signature of architect Bill Bensley, combined with authentic Vietnamese culinary experiences and international dining brands. The investment in lounge facilities not only enhances service quality but also integrates cultural identity as part of the travel journey.

In parallel, the airline introduces a hotel check-in model, allowing passengers to complete check-in procedures and receive boarding passes directly at their place of stay. Baggage is collected and transferred to the airport following standard procedures, enabling passengers to save time and fully enjoy their holiday before departure.

In the initial phase, this service is available at La Festa Phu Quoc – Curio Collection by Hilton and New World Phu Quoc Resort, and also serves guests staying in the Sunset Town and Kem Beach areas.

The combination of lounge services and hotel check-in clearly reflects Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ direction in building a seamless “fly-and-resort” journey, where the experience extends beyond the flight itself to encompass the entire travel itinerary.

A New “Silk Ribbon” Connecting Vietnam and Korea

Seoul, home to Incheon International Airport, is one of the region’s most important aviation hubs, linking Northeast Asia with North America, Europe, and numerous global markets. Establishing the direct Phu Quoc – Seoul route not only serves point-to-point travel demand but also opens access to a broader passenger network.

According to Ambassador of Vietnam to South Korea, Vu Ho:

“In the context of the rapidly developing relationship between the two countries, South Korea is currently one of Vietnam’s most important international visitor markets. The addition of the direct Phu Quoc – Seoul route will contribute to promoting tourism, economic exchange, and people-to-people connectivity between the two nations.”

The route operates under a full-service model, offering a comprehensive travel experience from onboard meals and checked baggage to Business Class and priority services. When combined with Sun Group’s integrated tourism, resort, and entertainment ecosystem in Phu Quoc, the visitor journey becomes a holistic experience rather than merely transportation.

The launch of the Phu Quoc – Seoul route, together with synchronized service enhancements from ground to air, demonstrates Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ consistent approach: network expansion goes hand in hand with experience elevation.

Amid intensifying regional competition, such well-integrated connections in both service and ecosystem are expected to play a vital role in enhancing international visitor appeal, gradually positioning Phu Quoc as a new aviation and tourism gateway of Vietnam.
