1. Travel Documents

Before departing on a flight from Vietnam, passengers must prepare all required identification documents for international travel in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.

2. Visa

South Korea classifies visas into various types depending on the traveler’s purpose and length of stay. Passengers should visit the official website to check the appropriate visa information.

Among them, the short-term tourist visa (C-3) is the most common, issued to travelers visiting South Korea for tourism, business trips, family visits, conferences, seminars, etc., with a maximum stay of 30 days or up to 90 days within a 12-month period.

3. Arrival Declaration

From January 1, 2026, South Korea has implemented the electronic arrival card (e-Arrival Card). Travelers must complete it within 72 hours prior to departure. Alternatively, passengers may fill out a paper declaration upon arrival at the airport.

4. Currency Regulations

Upon entry into South Korea, passengers are permitted to carry:

  • Local currency (Korean Won – KRW): up to KRW 8,000,000
  • Foreign currencies: unlimited amounts if declared upon arrival
  • Amounts exceeding the equivalent of USD 10,000 (including traveler’s cheques) must be declared

5. Other Regulations

Items that must be declared when entering South Korea:

  • Cash exceeding USD 10,000 (or equivalent)
  • Food and agricultural products: meat, fish, vegetables, fresh fruits, herbs
  • Long-term medications or those containing special substances (hormones, opioids, etc.)
  • Cosmetics, electronics, alcoholic beverages exceeding duty-free limits
  • Commercial goods or items in large quantities
  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or inappropriate materials
