To help passengers prepare for a smooth journey, Sun PhuQuoc Airways provides the latest available information on entry requirements for various destinations. As regulations may change without prior notice, passengers are strongly advised to verify the latest requirements with the relevant authorities of their destination before travelling.

1. Travel Documents

Before departing from Vietnam, passengers must prepare all required international travel documents in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.

Please note that passports must be valid for at least six (6) months from the intended date of entry into Mainland China and contain at least two (2) blank visa pages.

2. Visa Requirements

Vietnamese citizens are required to obtain a valid visa before entering Mainland China. The visa type depends on the purpose of travel:

  • Tourist Visa (L): For tourism, sightseeing, holidays, or visiting friends.
  • Business Visa (M): For business meetings, trade fairs, exhibitions, or other commercial activities.
  • Student Visa (X): For study in Mainland China.
  • Work Visa (Z): For employment in Mainland China.
  • Family Visit Visa (Q or S): For visiting family members residing, studying, or working in Mainland China.

Visa Exemptions

The following categories of Vietnamese citizens are exempt from the visa requirement for entry into Mainland China:

  • Vietnamese citizens holding an ordinary passport with an AB stamp may stay in Mainland China for up to 90 days. The 90-day period begins on the day following arrival.
  • The following visa exemptions are valid until 31 December 2026:
    • Vietnamese citizens holding diplomatic or official passports may stay in Mainland China for up to 90 days.
    • Vietnamese citizens holding ordinary passports and travelling in tour groups of at least two (2) people organised by a Mainland China travel agency may stay for up to six (6) days. Entry and departure must be via Xishuangbanna Airport (JHG), Mohan Railway Port, or Mohan Land Port.

3. Arrival Declaration

Passengers must present a completed Arrival Card upon arrival in Mainland China. The declaration may be submitted in paper form or completed online via the official Arrival Card system before arrival.

4. Quarantine Requirements

Passengers entering Mainland China within six (6) days after departing from or transiting through a country or territory with a risk of yellow fever transmission, and who do not possess a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, may be subject to vaccination and quarantine upon arrival.

The following passengers are exempt from the yellow fever vaccination requirement:

  • Children under nine (9) months of age.
  • Passengers transiting through Mainland China without leaving the international transit area.
  • Passengers transiting through a country or territory with a risk of yellow fever transmission without leaving the transit area during their connection.

5. Currency Regulations

Passengers entering or leaving Mainland China may carry:

  • Chinese currency (RMB/CNY): Up to CNY 20,000 in cash.
  • Foreign currency: Up to USD 5,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies) in cash.
  • Passengers carrying more than CNY 20,000 or USD 5,000 (or its equivalent in other currencies) must declare the amount to Customs.
